Fort Myers Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Unlawfully Possessing a Firearm as a Convicted Felon

News Release: Fort Myers, Florida - U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell has sentenced Jontavious Jarquel Griffin (34, Fort Myers) to 5 years and 10 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. The court also ordered Griffin to forfeit the firearm and ammunition possessed during the offense. Griffin had pleaded guilty on Jan. 25, 2023.

River Ridge Man Pleads Guilty to Violations of the Federal Gun Control and Federal Controlled Substances Acts

On Friday, May 11, 2023, TYRRIN BLUNT, age 27, a resident of River Ridge, Louisiana, pled guilty to a three-count indictment, announced U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans. In Count 1, BLUNT is charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(D). BLUNT faces a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000.00, and up to 2 years of supervised release.

Madison Man Sentenced to 7 Years for Methamphetamine Trafficking

Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Matthew J. Yancey, 23, Madison, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to 7 years in federal prison for distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Yancey pled guilty to this charge on February 24, 2023.

Hartford Man Sentenced to 54 Months in Federal Prison for Fentanyl Distribution and Firearm Possession Offenses

Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that JAMIE PATTERSON, also known as “Diddy,” 25, of Hartford, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Sarala V. Nagala in Hartford to 54 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for fentanyl distribution and firearm possession offenses.

Attempted “Straw” Firearm Purchaser Sentenced to One Year in Prison

News Release: MADISON, WIS. - Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Taylor A. Kratochwill-Loomis, 22, DeForest, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to one year and one day in prison for making false statements while attempting to purchase a firearm for a prohibited person. This is commonly known as a “straw purchase." Kratochwill-Loomis pled guilty to this offense on Jan. 18, 2023.

News Release: MADISON, WIS. - Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Anthony James, 39, La Crosse, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to 29 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm after previously being convicted of a felony. James pleaded guilty to this charge on Feb. 10, 2023.

News Release: ROCHESTER, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Tyree D. Washington, 40, of Rochester, NY, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of firearms before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark W. Pedersen. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Omaha Woman Sentenced to 72 Months After Jury Convicts Her of Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm

News Release: United States Attorney Steven Russell announced that Kristen M. Patterson, 40, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on May 3, 2023, in federal court in Omaha for unlawfully possessing a firearm as a felon. United States District Brian C. Buescher sentenced Patterson to 72 months’ imprisonment. She was also ordered to serve two years of supervised release after her release from prison. There is no parole in the federal system.
