HATTIESBURG, Miss. - A Columbia man pled guilty to possession of a silencer that was not registered with the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, announced U.S. Attorney Darren J. LaMarca and Acting Special Agent in Charge Anthony Spotswood of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Grant McArthur, 51, pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Hattiesburg.
McArthur will be sentenced on December 6 and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. A federal district judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The ATF investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Allen is prosecuting the case.
