FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Alfred A. Cooke, Assistant Agent in Charge of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration-Merrillville, Indiana, and U.S. Attorney Clifford D. Johnson for the Northern District of Indiana announced that Joseph Golden, 36, of Fort Wayne, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Holly A. Brady after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Golden was sentenced to 144 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

According to documents in the case, Golden engaged in the sale of methamphetamine and heroin to law enforcement on two occasions in August and September 2022.  At the time of his arrest, law enforcement located over 800 grams of methamphetamine in Golden’s vehicle, which had a purity level of 99%. 

This case was investigated by the DEA with the assistance of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brent Ecenbarger.
