Buffalo, NY - The U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force recovered a critically missing child from Sweetwater, Texas early today in Lockport, New York.

The child was reported as a runaway to the Sweetwater Police Department in Texas, and authorities received information that the child could be heading to the New York area. 

The U.S. Marshals Service in Western New York would like to thank the Northern District of Texas - U.S. Marshals Office, Sweetwater Police Department and their Task Force partners for the successful recovery.

The U.S. Marshals Service Task Force is composed of skilled investigators from the Buffalo Police Department, Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Niagara Falls Police Department, New York State Police Department, New York State Parole, ICE and Customs and Border Protection.
