ROCHESTER, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that John Buckley, 59, of Wayland, NY, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography before Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi, who is handling the case, stated that between August and December 2021, Buckley used his cellphone to take sexually explicit photos of a minor female. On August 30, 2022, the FBI executed a federal search warrant on the cellphone and recovered 31 images containing child pornography, including images of the minor female.  Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. The plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia. Additional assistance was provided by the FBI Chicago Field Office and the Joliet, Illinois Police Department.

Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date before Judge Wolford.
