Pine Ridge Man Sentenced for Drug Distribution

United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced that a Pine Ridge, South Dakota, man convicted of Distribution of a Controlled Substance to an Individual Under 21 Years of Age, was sentenced on May 1, 2023, by Judge Jeffrey L. Viken, U.S. District Court.


Former President of Massachusetts State Police Union and Former Lobbyist Sentenced to Prison for RICO, Fraud, Obstruction and Tax Charges

The former President of the State Police Association of Massachusetts (SPAM) and the union’s former Massachusetts lobbyist were sentenced today in federal court in Boston for racketeering, fraud, obstruction of justice and tax crimes.


45 Minneapolis Gang Members and Associates Indicted on Federal Charges

News Release: Two indictments were unsealed today in the District of Minnesota charging 30 members and associates of two Minneapolis-based street gangs - the Highs and the Bloods - with racketeering (RICO) conspiracy involving alleged murder, attempted murder, robbery, obstruction of justice, and drug trafficking.


Convicted Felon Sentenced for Possessing Firearms

News Release: Patrick Charles Schutz, age 38, of Casper, Wyoming, was sentenced for being a felon in possession of firearms to 28 months in prison with three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment. U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson imposed the sentence on April 24, 2023.



Manchester Man Pleads Guilty to Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, and Sale of Firearms

News Release: Fort Myers, Florida - U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell has sentenced Jontavious Jarquel Griffin (34, Fort Myers) to 5 years and 10 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. The court also ordered Griffin to forfeit the firearm and ammunition possessed during the offense. Griffin had pleaded guilty on Jan. 25, 2023.

Omaha Woman Sentenced to 72 Months After Jury Convicts Her of Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm

News Release: United States Attorney Steven Russell announced that Kristen M. Patterson, 40, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on May 3, 2023, in federal court in Omaha for unlawfully possessing a firearm as a felon. United States District Brian C. Buescher sentenced Patterson to 72 months’ imprisonment. She was also ordered to serve two years of supervised release after her release from prison. There is no parole in the federal system.


Tampa Convicted Felon Sentenced to More Than Four Years in Federal Prison for Possessing a Firearm

News Release: Tampa, Florida - U.S. District Judge James Moody, Jr. has sentenced Christian Joel Andujar Rivera (25, Tampa) to four years and four months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for being a felon in possession of firearms. The court also ordered him to forfeit a Glock firearm and assorted ammunition associated with the offense. Andujar Rivera had pleaded guilty on Feb. 2, 2023.
