Bakersfield Brothers Sentenced for Roles in Multiple Fraud Schemes

News Release: FRESNO, Calif. - For their roles in a conspiracy to commit wire fraud, today, Charles Abieanga, 31, of Bakersfield, was sentenced to five years and five months in prison and his brother Simon Abieanga, 28, of Bakersfield, was sentenced to three years and five months in prison, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced. Charles Abieanga was ordered to pay $505,695 in restitution, and Simon Abieanga was ordered to pay $326,832 in restitution.


ADA Settlement Improves Accessibility at West Hartford Acupuncture Practice

News Release: Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that West Hartford Acupuncture, located at 173 Oakwood Avenue in West Hartford, has entered into a settlement agreement with the United States under the Americans with Disabilities Act. New Orleans Man Pleads Guilty to Drug and Weapons Violations

News Release: NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - BRIAN TARDY, age 31, resident of Orleans Parish, pled guilty on Thursday, March 16, 2023 to all counts of a three-count superseding bill of information for drug and weapons violations, announced U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans. TARDY’s sentencing is set for June 22, 2023.


University of Iowa Agrees to Training, Payment of $16,444 to Resolve United States’ Allegations Regarding Resident X-Ray Interpretations

News Release: The University of Iowa (“UI") has agreed to training and payment of $16,444 to the United States to resolve allegations that UI, through its academic medical center in Iowa City, Iowa, submitted claims for payment to the Medicare program for x-ray interpretations by resident physicians where an attending physician’s review of the residents’ interpretations did not satisfy government payment requirements.

Sikeston Man Sentenced to Serve 125 Months in Federal Prison on Gun and Drug Charges

News Release: CAPE GIRARDEAU - The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Cameron Melton Malone, 30, of Sikeston, Missouri, was sentenced Monday to serve a total aggregate sentence of 125 months in federal prison for the offenses of felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Malone appeared for his sentencing hearing before U.S. District Judge John A. Ross at the federal courthouse in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.


New Haven Man Guilty of Narcotics and Firearm Offenses

News Release: Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that a federal jury in New Haven has found DONELL ALLICK, JR., also known as “D-Nice," 24, guilty of narcotics offenses. Following the trial and before the jury returned its verdict, Allick also pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing firearms.
