New Orleans Man Pleads Guilty to Carjacking and Weapons Charges

News Release: NEW ORLEANS, LA - United States Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that FURRELL JOHNSON, age 33, of New Orleans, Louisiana, pleaded guilty today before United States District Judge Lance M. Africk to a two-count indictment charging him with Carjacking and violating the Federal Gun Control Act.


McCurtain County Resident Sentenced for Federal Firearm Crime

News Release: MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Dalton Elzie Hunter, age 29, of McCurtain, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.


Armed Drug Trafficker Pleads Guilty to Possessing Firearm and Distribution Quantities of Fentanyl

News Release: Tampa, Florida - United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Eugene Washington, Jr. (36, Bradenton) has pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and possession with the intent to distribute 40 grams more of fentanyl. Washington faces a maximum penalty of 55 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.


Canton Defendant Sentenced on Racketeering and Drug Trafficking Charges

News Release: AKRON - Justin Bush, 35, of Canton, Ohio, was sentenced to 96 months imprisonment on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 by U.S. District Judge Sara Lioi after he pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute narcotics, and to distributing narcotics. Bush was also ordered to pay a $300 Special Assessment and serve 3 years of supervised release after release from imprisonment.

News Release: Firearms Offenses. Matthew Pruitt, age 20, of Cheyenne, Wyoming was sentenced on May 26, 2023, for being a felon in possession of a firearm to 27 months’ imprisonment with three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment. U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson imposed the sentence.

Hostage-Taking Co-Conspirators Will Serve a Combined 32 Years in Prison

News Release: TUCSON, Ariz. - Olegario Lares-De La Rosa, 30, of Mexico, was sentenced last Friday by United States District Judge Jennifer G. Zipps to 18 years in prison. Lares-De La Rosa was convicted of Conspiracy to Commit Hostage Taking, Conspiracy to Transport Illegal Aliens for Profit, Transportation of Illegal Aliens and Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, after a jury trial in February 2023.


Bridgeport Felon Caught With Loaded Gun Receives 54 Months in Prison for Fourth Federal Conviction

News Release: Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that RAHSHIM CARTER, 34, of Bridgeport, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 54 months of imprisonment, followed by three years for supervised release, for unlawfully possessing a firearm.


Cleveland Man Sentenced in Drug Trafficking and Money Laundering Conspiracy

News Release: AKRON - Devonn Fair, 31, of Cleveland, Ohio, was sentenced on Thursday, June 1, 2023, to 420 months or 35 years in prison by U.S. District Judge John R. Adams after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, conspiracy to launder monetary instruments, money laundering, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Evans.


Montana Man Sentenced for Federal Hate and Firearms Crimes for Shooting Intended to Kill and Rid Town of LGBTQI+ Residents

News Release: A Montana man was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris to 18 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for shooting into a residence and attempting to shoot others with the intent of ridding a town of LGBTQI+ residents.


Fort Myers Convicted Felon Pleads Guilty to Unlawfully Possessing Firearms

News Release: Fort Myers, Florida - United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Travis Lavon Anderson (36, Fort Myers) has pleaded guilty to possessing firearms as a previously convicted felon. Anderson faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.


Shasta County Man Sentenced for Black Market Firearms Trafficking

News Release: SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Brian Scheckla, 65, of Burney, was sentenced today to two years in prison for unlawful dealing in firearms, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.



Rochester Felon Pleads Guilty to Drug and Gun Charges

News Release: ROCHESTER, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that Jesus Santiago, 32, of Rochester, NY, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, before U.S. District Judge David G. Larimer. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.


Drug Trafficker With Stolen Law Enforcement Gun Sentenced to 10 Years in Federal Prison

News Release: A Fort Worth drug trafficker with eight firearms - including one stolen from Tarrant County law enforcement - was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, announced U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Leigha Simonton.
