Defendant Sentenced to 19 Years in Federal Prison for a Racketeering Conspiracy, Including Two Murders

News Release: BALTIMORE - U.S. District Judge Stephanie A. Gallagher sentenced Demonte Kellum, 26, of Baltimore to 19 years in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, for conspiracy to participate in racketeering activity, specifically his involvement in three armed robberies in 2019, two of which resulted in the murder of the victims.

Peoria Man Sentenced to 50 Months in Prison for Possessing a Handgun Outfitted With a “Glock Switch” Machinegun Conversion Device

News Release: PEORIA, Ill. - A Peoria, Illinois, man, Anthony Q. Johnson, 19, of the 1100 block of North Flora Avenue, was sentenced on August 2 to 50 months in federal prison for possessing a handgun equipped with a “Glock Switch" conversion device enabling the gun to fire as a fully-automatic machinegun. Johnson will serve a three-year term of supervised release upon completion of his prison term.


Madison Man Sentenced to 72 Months for Illegal Gun Possession

News Release: MADISON, WIS. - Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Zendel Rolack, 26, Madison, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 72 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon. This prison term will be followed by a 3-year term of supervised release. Rolack pleaded guilty to this offense on March 1, 2023.


Florida Man Arrested for Assaulting Law Enforcement During January 6 Capitol Breach

News Release: WASHINGTON - A Florida man has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges, including assaulting law enforcement, related to his actions during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the presidential election.


Wallingford Man Charged With Illegally Possessing a Firearm

News Release: Burlington, Vermont - The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont announced that today a federal grand jury sitting in Burlington, Vermont returned a one count indictment charging John Grandizio, 39, of Wallingford, Vermont, with knowingly possessing a firearm after having been previously convicted of a felony offense.


Manatee County Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Unlawfully Possessing Loaded Firearm as a Convicted Felon

News Release: FORT MYERS, Fla. - U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell has sentenced Shaborn Washington, 29, of Palmetto to eight years and four months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. The court also ordered Washington to forfeit the firearm and ammunition possessed during the offense. Washington had been found guilty following a bench trial on February 23.

News Release: RAPID CITY - United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced today that U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier has sentenced a Gillette, Wyoming, man convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance. The sentencing took place on July 21, 2023.


Shooter in Lynchburg Walmart Shootout Sentenced to 20 Years in Federal Prison

News Release: LYNCHBURG, Va. - A Salem, Virginia man who was involved in a shootout in Lynchburg during a methamphetamine deal in November 2021, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 20 years in federal prison.

Baton Rouge Man Sentenced to Seventeen Years in Federal Prison for Armed Robbery and Related Gun Offense

News Release: United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr., announced that U.S. District Judge John W. deGravelles sentenced Oreall Ruffin, age 25, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to 205 months in federal prison following his convictions for interference with commerce by robbery and using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. The Court further ordered Ruffin to serve three years of supervised release following his term of imprisonment.


Michigan Man Sentenced to 27 Months’ Imprisonment for Crack Cocaine Distribution and Unlawful Firearm Possession

News Release: BURLINGTON, Vt. - The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont stated that on August 7, 2023, Van Vincent Thomas, 41, of Detroit, Michigan, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge William K. Sessions III to a sentence of 27 months’ imprisonment followed by a 3-year term of supervised release. Thomas previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
