New Orleans Man Sentenced for Violating the Federal Gun Control Act

News Release: NEW ORLEANS - Melvin Walker, 35, a resident of Westwego, Louisiana, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jay C. Zainey to 37 months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons for violating the Federal Gun Control Act, announced U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans. On May 11, Walker pled guilty to a one-count indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(8).

News Release: FORT MYERS, Fla. - U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Deshon G. Walker, 26, of Fort Myers today pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.
