New Orleans Man Sentenced for Violating Federal Gun Control Act

News Release: NEW ORLEANS, LA - U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that MICHAEL CRAWFORD, age 27, from New Orleans, Louisiana, was sentenced yesterday in United States District Court on one count of Possession of a Firearm After a Felony Conviction, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(2).

New Orleans Man Sentenced for Violating the Federal Gun Control Act

News Release: NEW ORLEANS - Melvin Walker, 35, a resident of Westwego, Louisiana, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jay C. Zainey to 37 months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons for violating the Federal Gun Control Act, announced U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans. On May 11, Walker pled guilty to a one-count indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(8).

Martinsville Man Sentenced to 48 Months for Illegal Gun Possession

News Release: ROANOKE, Va. - A Martinsville, Virginia man, who police found lying next to a vehicle and unconscious, was sentenced today to 48 months in federal prison to be immediately followed by three years of supervised release for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Fort Myers Felon Pleads Guilty to Unlawfully Possessing a Firearm and Cocaine

News Release: FORT MYERS, Fla. - U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Keith Dewayne Drayton Jr., 27, of Fort Myers today pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon and possessing with the intent to distribute cocaine. Drayton faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison for the firearm offense and up to 20 years’ imprisonment for the drug offense. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

Tucson Firearms Smuggler Sentenced to 60 Months for Conspiring To Smuggle Firearms Into Mexico

News Release: TUCSON, Ariz. - Victor Coronado Jr., 40, of Tucson, Arizona, was sentenced on Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Rosemary Márquez to 60 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Coronado pleaded guilty to conspiracy to smuggle goods from the United States.

Melvin Hill Convicted by Jury on Federal Drug and Firearms Charges

News Release: BURLINGTON, Vt. - The U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont announced that Melvin Hill, 44, of Tignall, Georgia, was convicted yesterday in U.S. District Court in Rutland on five drug and gun charges after a week-long jury trial. Chief U.S. District Judge Geoffrey Crawford ordered that Hill remain in jail pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled. Hill has been held without bail since his arrest in March 2022.
