BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Kiara Hurd, 20, of West Seneca, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo to possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani, who is handling the case, stated that on September 28 and Nov. 16, 2021, and April 6, 2022, Hurd sold quantities of oxycodone to an undercover law enforcement officer. Charges remain pending again co-defendant Renee Ferrentino.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Frank A. Tarentino III, New York Division, the New York State Police, under the direction of Major Eugene Staniszewski, and the West Seneca Police Department, under the direction of Chief Edward Baker.
Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 20, 2023, before Judge Vilardo.
