Trotwood Police and FBI Announce $15,000 Reward for Murder Suspect Anthony E. Smith
The Trotwood Police Department and the Cincinnati Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) today announced a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Anthony E. Smith.
Anthony E. Smith is wanted for murder in the death of a man whose body was found in the front yard of a residence on N. Sherry Drive in Trotwood, Ohio, on May 30, 2022. Smith is alleged to have shot the man with a pistol multiple times, causing his death. On June 6, 2022, Smith was charged with murder and related offenses in the Montgomery County Municipal Court-Western Division, Court of Montgomery County, Ohio, and a state warrant was issued for his arrest.
Anthony E. Smith was last known to reside on Elmore Street in Trotwood, Ohio. He is 41 years old, approximately 5’11", and 220 pounds. He is known to use the names “Tay Smith," “Tay," and “Taterhead." Due to the nature of the allegations against Smith, and the severity of the offenses in which he is charged, Smith should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his location is asked to contact local police or call 1-800-CALL-FBI. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
1. Smith has ties to or may visit Detroit, Michigan; Covington, Tennessee; Tampa, Florida; Springfield and Dayton, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and the Camden, New Jersey area and surrounding towns.

William Rivers. “We encourage anyone with information about Anthony Smith’s location to notify law enforcement immediately. Tips from the public can make the community safer and help bring justice for the victim."
The Trotwood Police Department remains the lead investigative agency in this case. The FBI’s Southern Ohio Safe Streets Task Force is providing investigative assistance.
