The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention is offering a grant open from July 27 to Aug. 2.

The grant could provide up to $250,000.

OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to provide funding to the Southern University Law Center to assist the Louisiana Juvenile Justice Reform Act Implementation Commission (JJRAIC) in its efforts to significantly improve their juvenile justice system and reduce the risks to youth's physical and emotional safety while they are being served by the child welfare and juvenile justice serving agencies in the state. The support to SULC will also focus on advancing the capacity of the JJRAIC and its members so that the Commission can effectively carry out its mission to ensure youth in Louisiana are served in their communities and, if secure custody is necessary, are served in environments that are safe, equitable, and restorative. Statutory Authority: Pub. L. 116-260, 134 Stat. 1182, 1261.
