SYRACUSE, NEW YORK - Kevin Walker, 32, of Elmira, New York, was sentenced today to serve 130 months in federal prison for possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman, Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-New York Division, and Steven A. Nigrelli, Acting Superintendent of the New York State Police made the announcement.
As part of his previously entered guilty plea, Walker admitted that on Feb. 12, 2022, he drove a rental vehicle from his residence in Elmira to Cortland, New York. He intended to meet another individual in the parking lot of a Cortland business to sell to that individual 447 grams of pure methamphetamine, which Walker had in the trunk of the vehicle. Walker further admitted that he also possessed 137 grams of cocaine in the vehicle.
Chief United States District Judge Brenda K. Sannes also sentenced Walker to a 5-year term of supervised release following his imprisonment.
DEA and New York State Police investigated the case, with assistance from the Elmira Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew J. McCrobie prosecuted the case.
