FBI Seeking Information in David Yellen Investigation

The FBI Detroit Field Office has created a website for the public to provide information in the investigation of David Eric Yellen.

On June 1, 2023, David Yellen was arrested on two charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography. The arrest was made pursuant to a complaint establishing probable cause to believe Yellen traded sexually explicit photographs of minors online. A complaint is merely an allegation. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The FBI Detroit Field Office is seeking information pertinent to the investigation into David Yellen, who is well-known in the gymnastics community as a photographer and videographer. Yellen was contracted by multiple gymnastics academies in the Michigan area. Additionally, he was contracted by the United States Women’s Gymnastics Judges Association to create training materials and training films for new gymnastics judges.

Although Yellen currently resides in Michigan, he has traveled nationally as a gymnastics photographer and videographer.

The FBI is asking anyone with information relevant to this investigation to visit www.fbi.gov/YellenInvestigation and fill out the questionnaire or to contact FBI Detroit at YellenInvestigation@fbi.gov.
