The following press release was published by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration on April 27. It is reproduced in full below.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Darwin L. Craig, age 34, of Charleston, Missouri, was sentenced to serve 12 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Craig made arrangements to sell approximately five ounces of methamphetamine to an individual in Charleston last May. Craig met the individual and provided the methamphetamine in exchange for $1,200. Unbeknownst to Craig at the time, however, the individual was an undercover agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

At his guilty plea hearing earlier this year, Craig admitted that he knowingly distributed the methamphetamine. After serving his 12-year sentence, Craig will be placed on supervised release for a period of three years.

This case was investigated by the DEA and the SEMO Drug Task Force.
