Air Force Records Leak Probe

Daily Wire: Weaponization Committee Launches Probe Into Air Force Leak

* The unauthorized disclosure of U.S. military personnel records by the Air Force to an opposition research firm funded by Democrats is now under investigation by the House “Weaponization Committee." Leading the charge are Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT), a former Air Force pilot. They sent a letter on Thursday to the military branch’s top official seeking various documents and communications, The Daily Wire can reveal.

Washington Times:House weaponization panel probes release of Air Force records to political operatives

* An internal Air Force investigation revealed last month that the service improperly released the military duty information for 11 individuals. The investigation was launched after the disclosure of Indiana House Republican candidate Jennifer-Ruth Green’s military records ahead of the midterms. Several other GOP candidates have since come forward to report that their military records were improperly released.

Politico:House GOP panel launches probe into Air Force’s ‘unauthorized’ record disclosures

Just the News:House panel on federal weaponization opens probe into leak of service members records

* House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) wrote in a letter to Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall that the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government was seeking evidence and answers on why service members private information had been turned over to a firm paid by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee that funds House Democrat candidates.

Democrat Attacks On The First Amendment

New York Post:The media ignore Democrats in Congress stepping on freedom of speech

* Last week, Congress and the federal government stomped on press freedom and the press said nothing. Four watershed events lead to the inescapable conclusion that the entire Democratic Party and parts of the GOP have become the enemy of free speech and, astonishingly, they are aided and abetted by the most prestigious brands in news media, that have become tools of oppression, rather than defenders of the First Amendment.

The Hill:Post-decency politics: House Democrats use a hearing to attack free speech and a free press

* The latest attacks came as journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger testified about breaking the “Twitter Files" story, detailing how the FBI and other agencies secretly sought to censor or ban citizens from social media. In her opening statement, Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands), the ranking member of the House Judiciary subcommittee, attacked them as “so-called journalists" and said they were “a direct threat" to the safety of others by reporting the censorship story.

What's On Tap for Next Week

Punchbowl News:House GOP focuses on gun rights, school boards in upcoming hearings

The House Judiciary and Oversight and Accountability committees will hold a joint hearing on gun rights on March 23.

The hearing will focus on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ approach to guns and the Second Amendment, which Republicans have labeled an “assault."

A Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution and limited government will also hold a hearing the same day focused on the Biden administration’s handling of parents’ concerns at school board meetings.

Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has been a vocal advocate for both issues. Jordan’s first batch of subpoenas as chair focused on the administration’s handling of school board protests.
