Marrero Man Federally Indicted for Illegal Weapon Possession

News Release: NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - RASHEED SMITH, age 32, a resident of Marrero, Louisiana, was indicted on April 28, 2023 for illegal possession of a firearm, announced U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans.



Prior Felon Pleads Guilty to Gun Charge

News Release: ROCHESTER, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Tyree D. Washington, 40, of Rochester, NY, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of firearms before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark W. Pedersen. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

News Release: PEORIA, Ill. - A Moline, Illinois, man, Cordero Harris, 34, was sentenced on April 26, 2023, to 240 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm as a felon.


Fort Myers Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Unlawfully Possessing a Firearm as a Convicted Felon

News Release: Fort Myers, Florida - U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell has sentenced Jontavious Jarquel Griffin (34, Fort Myers) to 5 years and 10 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. The court also ordered Griffin to forfeit the firearm and ammunition possessed during the offense. Griffin had pleaded guilty on Jan. 25, 2023.

News Release: Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that BRIAN O’NEILL, a Maryland attorney and escrow agent, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni to nine years in prison for defrauding his clients of funds he was holding for them in escrow. O’NEILL pled guilty to two counts of wire fraud in November 2022.

Corrigan has sentenced Corinthian King (32, Jacksonville) to 11 years and 8 months in federal prison for possessing with the intent to distribute cocaine. King has also agreed to the forfeiture of a Glock 9mm pistol and ammunition, possessed during his commission of the offense. King had pleaded guilty on Sept. 21, 2022, and admitted to violating his supervised release on April 25, 2023.
