Rapid City Man Indicted for Illegal Possession of Firearm

News Release: RAPID CITY - United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced that a federal grand jury has indicted a Rapid City, South Dakota, man for Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Prohibited Person.


Convicted Murderer Pleads Guilty to Illegally Possessing Firearms

News Release: Ocala, Florida - United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Christopher Richard Munroe (55, Ocala) has pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Munroe faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 15, 2023. Munroe had been indicted on Dec. 20, 2022.


Eight Men Charged With Fentanyl Trafficking

Bridgeport Gang Member Involved in 2019 Murder Sentenced to More Than 21 Years in Federal Prison

News Release: ZIARE DEDRICK, also known as “Zi" and “Hb Zi," 21, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport to 255 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for his participation in a violent Bridgeport street gang, including his involvement the murder of Ty’Quess Moore in December 2019.

Man Charged With Stealing Guns From Newington Gun Store

News Release: Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and James Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge, ATF Boston Field Division, today announced that a federal grand jury in Hartford has returned an indictment charging TROY HARRIS, 28, with firearm offenses stemming from a Newington gun store theft in September 2021.

Georgia Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Possession of Meth with Intent to Distribute After Ordering Fabric Soaked in Meth

News Release: ALBANY, Ga. - A Southwest Georgia man guilty of drug distribution was sentenced to 240 months in prison today after federal agents discovered fabric soaked in methamphetamine and crystal meth in packages at the Atlanta airport addressed to him from Mexico.

Green Bay Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Manufacturing and Trafficking 3D-Printed Ghost Guns

News Release: United States Attorney Gregory J. Haanstad of the Eastern District of Wisconsin announced that on March 20, 2023, Senior United States District Judge William C. Griesbach sentenced Mitchell J. Guerrero (age: 30) to a total sentence of 46 months’ imprisonment and three years’ supervised release for manufacturing and trafficking 3D-printed firearms, commonly referred to as “ghost guns" because they lack serial numbers and thus are untraceable.


Madison Man Sentenced to 102 Months for Firearm & Drug Trafficking Crimes

News Release: MADISON, WIS. - Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Sylvester Ray Gavins, Jr., 32, Madison, Wisconsin, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 102 months in prison for possessing cocaine with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm in furtherance of that drug crime. Gavins pleaded guilty to these charges on December 6, 2022.


Four Additional States Join Justice Department’s Suit to Block JetBlue’s Acquisition of Spirit Airlines

News Release: Today, the Attorneys General of California, Maryland, New Jersey, and North Carolina joined a civil antitrust lawsuit filed by the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of New York, and the District of Columbia to block JetBlue’s proposed $3.8 billion acquisition of Spirit Airlines. The Antitrust Division and the state Attorneys General filed an amended complaint in the District of Massachusetts.
