News Release: SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Former police officer William Cintrón-Rivera, a.k.a. “El Kid/Kid" pleaded guilty to the theft of 54 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition from the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, Guayama headquarters on July 17, 2019. On Jan. 20, 2021, a federal grand jury charged the defendant with multiple counts of firearms violations and tampering with witnesses.


Bristol Man Involved in Gun Trafficking Scheme Sentenced to Prison

News Release: Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that JOSHUA BENTZ, 39, of Bristol, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven to 24 months of imprisonment, followed by two years of supervised release, for illegally trafficking firearms from South Carolina to Connecticut.

DESHAUN WHATLEY, age 43, and LEATRICE FRANKLIN, age 36, both of Metairie, LA, were indicted on April 28, 2023 on one (1) count of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841 and one (1) count of Possession of Firearms during a Drug Trafficking Offense in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 924(c)(1)(A).

Orlando Felon Sentenced to More Than 7 Years on Firearm Charges in Connection With Shooting

News Release: Orlando, Florida - U.S. District Judge Wendy W. Berger today sentenced Darrius Jaques Garrett (33, Orlando) to seven years and six months in federal prison for possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon. The court also ordered Garrett to forfeit a Glock pistol and ammunition, which were used in this case. Garrett had pleaded guilty on Nov. 30, 2022.
