Tampa Drug Trafficking Leader Sentenced to More Than 21 Years in Federal Prison

News Release: Tampa, FL - United States District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell has sentenced Edward Verdi-Bruno, (31, Tampa) to 21 years and 8 months in federal prison for conspiracy and delivery of controlled substances. Verdi-Bruno had pleaded guilty on March 29, 2023.


Peru Man Sentenced to 110 Months in Prison

News Release: SOUTH BEND - Curtis Birner, 37 years old, of Peru, Indiana, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Robert L. Miller, Jr. after being found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm following a two-day jury trial in January, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.

Tarpon Spring Man Who Threatened To Commit Violence to a Child and Grandmother Arrested and Charged

News Release: Tampa, Florida - United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the arrest and filing of a criminal complaint charging Antonio McCray (22, Tarpon Springs) with possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony. If convicted, McCray faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison. McCray made his initial appearance on June 21, 2023, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Amanda Arnold Sansone, and was ordered detained pending trial.


Hardin Felon Sentenced to Prison for Illegal Possession of Gun

News Release: BILLINGS - A Hardin man with felony convictions was sentenced today to 21 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, after law enforcement found a firearm in a stolen truck he was driving during a pursuit that began near Billings and ended on the Crow Indian Reservation, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said today.

Collier County Career Offender Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison for Firearm and Drug Offenses

News Release: Fort Myers, Florida - U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Barber today sentenced Alex Winters (44, Collier County) to 40 years in federal prison for possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The Court also ordered Winters to forfeit the firearm and ammunition he illegally possessed. Winters was found guilty at trial on March 9, 2022.
