National Enforcement Action Results in 78 Individuals Charged for $2.5B in Health Care Fraud

News Release: NEW ORLEANS - U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans, the Department of Justice, together with federal and state law enforcement partners, today announced a strategically coordinated, two-week nationwide law enforcement action that resulted in criminal charges against 78 defendants for their alleged participation in health care fraud and opioid abuse schemes that included over $2.5 billion in alleged fraud.


Wolcott Man Who Attempted To Have Sex With A 12 Y/O Is Going To Prison For 35 Years

News Release: ROCHESTER, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Jacob Ritchie, 37, of Wolcott, NY, who was convicted of distributing child pornography following a prior conviction for a child sex abuse offense, was sentenced to serve 35 years in prison and 10 years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.


Columbus man sentenced to 45 years in prison for sexually exploiting three minors

News Release: COLUMBUS, Ohio - A 37-year-old Columbus man was sentenced today to 540 months in prison for coercing at least three minor victims to engage in sexually explicit activity for the purpose of producing images and videos of the acts. Two of those victims were offered cash and gifts to entice them into performing and/or engaging in sexually explicit acts with him.


Drug trafficker sent to prison for possession of multiple variations of weapons earmarked for cartel in Mexico

Salina Couple Convicted of Child Abuse and Neglect

News Release: TULSA - On Friday June 23, a federal jury returned guilty verdicts against Amanda Irene Smith, 44, and Joel Richard Smith, 48, for Child Abuse in Indian Country and Child Neglect in Indian Country following a four-day trial. The jury deliberated into the evening.
