United States Attorney’s Office Joins in Recognizing Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day
News Release: Spokane, Washington - U.S. Attorney Vanessa R. Waldref announced today that she will join with Federal, State, Local, and Tribal leaders in recognizing May 5, 2023, as Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day. In doing so, U.S. Attorney Waldref called on all citizens and residents in Eastern Washington to support Tribal governments and Tribal communities’ efforts to increase awareness of missing or murdered Indigenous People.

Shoreline, Washington, man sentenced to 51 months in prison for illegal possession of ammunition
News Release: Seattle - A 45-year-old Shoreline, Washington man was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Seattle to 51 months in prison for unlawful possession of ammunition, announced U.S. Attorney Nick Brown. Rustam Yusupov pleaded guilty in February 2023, following his arrest in March of 2022. At today’s sentencing hearing U.S. District Judge John C. Coughenour said the prevalence of guns on the streets is leading “to a bloodbath in this country.".

News Release: RALEIGH, N.C. - Denise Coit Alston, 69; Monica Faye Barnes, 51; Terron Cortez Parker, 37; and Kami D. Navajo Man Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter
News Release: ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced that Sheldon Carlton Daye was charged with involuntary manslaughter.
